#9 Architecture
“Architecture” is one of the oldest themes to be explored in photography. We may even with a slight degree of exaggeration mention in this category the very first known photograph in the history of the medium – Niépce’s “View from the Window”. An apparent “technical nature” and dispassionate objectiveness are the received misconceptions that outsiders often ascribe to this field of photography. The photography of architecture may in fact place upon the photographer considerable technical requirements, but as with other specialized areas within the medium, there occurs a distinctive shift in these requirements towards the originality of vision, as opposed to the stress placed on objectivity and precision that were dominant in the past.

Sanaz Sohrabi
