The reasons are manifold and the present issue offers a reflection on the ways in which they have been changing in relation to their time. In recent years there appeared radically novel approaches to staging and construction in photography. Eminent international artists whose work continues to inspire younger generations include Jeff Wall and Philip-Lorca diCorcia, who use different approaches to question the seemingly objective visual record or documentary photography.
