Image Is an Image and That’s It

Says the photographer, who for a long time has been peeking into paintings and drawing only to later find out that photography is closest to her heart and that she expresses it very traditionally: as drawing with light.

While a number of artists attempt to come to terms with the legacy of modern art using something as uncertain as reason, Tereza Kabůrková has her quiet and private conversation with tradition via her senses. It isn’t for naught that many artists have paid attention to a simple process, a long and concentrated insight investigating basic relationships between light and mass so that they could work their way up to a level of portraying a situation firmly fixed in time and, parallel to that, also a bit outside of time.
