Tacita Dean

I remember my trip to Prague in 1991. I bought ten cheap Russian films, which allowed me to be carefree in a manner unknown to the frugality of a student. I left the films there to be processed, and forgot about them. When the package arrived some months later, I barely recognised a single image I had taken. They no longer resonated with my past, but the past.
