Seamstresses

The installation Šičky (Seamstresses) demonstrating how personal and social elements can be combined in an artwork. Sam Sráč was sewing shirts for Soviet soldiers stationed in Czechoslovakia when she was thirteen years old. The video, composed of three horizontal strips showing the same scene repeatedly, depicts Sam sewing on a machine, with her teenage daughter dancing in the background.
