Magda Stanová

interviewed by Pavel Vančát

Magda Stanová pursues long-term analysis and critique of the medium of photography and the art scene through lectures, drawings and textual commentary. In recent years, she has been attempting to locate points of intersection between artistic and scientific practice, subjecting to analysis both artistic approaches and the processes of their verification. Magda Stanová studied photography at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (VŠVU) in Bratislava, Slovakia, in the studio of Milota Havránková. As a Fulbright scholar, she graduated in New Genres at the San Francisco Art Institute. At present, she is a doctoral student in the studio of Tomáš Vaněk at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
