To Settle in the Unfamiliar

An encounter with an artwork when the work becomes our personal property is always a very complex act. It includes sense and sensibility, emotions and speculative reasoning that always considers the whole history of art the artwork somehow belongs to. What is “original” during the appropriation of the artwork is the mood that fatally influences its reception, leaving an emotionally tinged memory impression on us.
