Jiří Kovanda
Diary
We approach Jiří Kovanda’s collages and paintings that date back to the critical turning point of socialism/capitalism with a certain degree of consternation: they create an image of us – the incorrigible us, the laughable us, and the small us. They are apolitical because that is how we are as well. We do not become too socially involved, but remain standing on our own correct bank. We cling to trivialities but at the same time long for the majestic.
