Protektorama & Schwarmwesen
The WorldWideWitches, Protektorama, fed and cared for by JP Raether, investigate people’s obsession with their smartphones. They address the relationship of the body to the screen, explore portable computer systems as body prosthetics, and address the materiality, manufacturing, and mines of information technologies.
Schwarmwesen is an aLifveForm whose name suggests groupings or swarms. Connected to this idea is the crowd which, in our digital age, gathers through virtual “likes” and online comments on social media as much as in iconic places, such as monuments and touristic sites in the world’s famous cities.
