Ladislav Babuščák
Ocean sea
Laco Babuščák is one of few artists from my area that works only with topics that he knows very well and to which he has a strong, emotional, almost destined relationship. He is also one of few artists with so-called grandiose and traditional ambition (in the positive sense of the word). He refuses to allow morally and aesthetically-suspicious motifs enter his affected repertoire. The worlds of literature and music are basic inspirations for him. Laco understands art to be a one-time opportunity for an individual to experience a romantic and mystical personal history. As in a grand opera narrative. (He sees the) artist as a lone creator obsessed with discipline and with exact demands that can bring the viewer and the artist himself intellectual and aesthetic satisfaction.
