The photographer and FAMU professor Pavel Štecha (20. 12. 1944 – 19. 7. 2004) was well-known and much sought after as a professional, able to illuminate and to convey the spirit of photographed phenomena uncommonly well. Critics have reiterated this a number of times, in speaking either of his freelance or commissioned works. The point which defined Štecha’s social status was his acute sense for quality. His adherence to the high quality of his work made him seem irksome to those who lacked it.
