When I saw Karel Knop’s annual final project work entitled, Die Drachenwanderung (2006), sometime ago, I was drawn to it mostly due to its playful and, in a certain sense, bold potential. According to the artist’s own words, the work is an attempt to attain the level of his idols, true legends of contemporary visual art. The need to confront oneself with already-established icons and their artistic strategies is both evident and understandable for almost all beginning artists.
