Richard Feynman, one of the founders of nanotechnology, has called his famous lecture on nanotechnology and nanostructures, which took place at the annual American Physical Society meeting at Caltech in 1959, “There´s Plenty of Room at the Bottom.” As regards Linda Čihařová, who is interested in nanotechnology as an interdisciplinary and cross-sectional technology and who transposes her visual experience from the electron microscope into the realm of photography, drawing and painting, I would characterize her world, or rather her in-between worlds – the artist herself calls them “nanocommunities” – by the phrase “there’s plenty of room between us.”
