White Gaze

On the basis of the extremely well known yellow frame of National Geographic magazine, and through meticulous work with its archive, Michelle Dizon and Viêt Lê present a critical reflection of the perspective of white people on “the rest of the world”. From the second-generation immigrant perspective, they present a project that pushes the discourse of the heritage of colonialism towards an appeal for the inclusion of the trauma and post-trauma of many generations and nations, alerting us to all the principles of emphasizing otherness, including those that are hidden.
