This essay examines the meaning and place of the concept of utopia in the twenty-first century, a time of many dramatic social changes. As a polemic with the three most frequent preconceptions of utopia, it aims to offer a new perspective that draws inspiration from the visual arts and sketches a concrete outline of the character and forms of utopia in the present day.
