Karel Kameník placed a photograph of Ostrava, the place he was born on 29 April 1959, on the wall of a basement apartment in Prague’s Dejvice district. The snapshot taken by Viktor Kolář shows a neighbourly chat/ visit, conversational moments, which for us are understandably silenced. A view, which Karel certainly witnessed repeatedly.. Of course the Kolář installed by Kameník represented more than a street genre. The confluence of expressions on the individual figures signalled a definite programme; whereas, early Kameník spoke in fact to the possibility of capturing culminating moments in their guilt-assigning eloquence.
