Martin Zet
Zetification as the only way of succeeding
To believe in the journey towards the Why.
To reject studies, knowledge, the familiar.
To stand quietly.
Handy hands at hand.
27 July 1995, Petrovice u Sedlčan
It was not so long ago that Martin Zet’s primary school-aged daughter asked him how she should answer the question: “What does your dad do?” I would assume that the subject of this query advised his daughter to write in her homework assignment that her father is a sculptor, but apparently even he hesitated a bit. After all, with some exaggeration this seemingly simple question contains an existential dilemma that Martin Zet has been systematically working to address in his art, which hovers somewhere on the line between performance, body art and applied philosophy.
