Masha Ru
Photography as a Function
Masha Ru’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in her scientific background. She has studied Mathematics and Computer Science in Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 2011, she received a doctoral degree from the Eindhoven University of Technology. Her PhD thesis was titled “Automated Focusing and Astigmatism Correction in Electron Microscopy.” Also in 2011, she earned a bachelor’s degree the Photo Academy Amsterdam. Mathematical reflection is the common denominator of her art projects.
