Jiří Hanzelka & Miroslav Zikmund
The Silver Tatras of Hanzelka and Zikmund
There is no doubt that the photographs published in the books of travel writing by Jiří Hanzelka and Miroslav Zikmund have signifcantly shaped several generations of readers’ understanding of various far-fung corners of the world. Among other things, the photographs of African and South American women were some of the few examples at the time when a book depicted the naked human body – even on the cover, as with Mezi dvěma oceány (Between Two Oceans, 1959).
