Visibility is a Trap

The work series “Visibility is a Trap” is based on stories that revolve around the sociological concept of ‘passing’; the ability of a person to be perceived as a member of an identity group that differs from that of their origin. The works are exhibited in empty rooms where holes are punched into the walls so the visitors can look into the void between the walls. Inside the walls’ structure, video projections of small figures sit and stand in different constellations so that they look like holograms. The characters are all based on famous cases of people that relate to the theme. Confronting each other, they end up in conversations, discussions, quarrels and even a jam session.
